There are so many different things that can be kinks or fetishes. What is something that you just don't understand? Maybe somebody here is into that and can help explain what it is that they get out of it.

Findom, why would you want someone to spend your money?

So I do think that findom can be more than that. I have done financial domination with Jaro. I never once spent his money, but I controlled what he spent. He had to ask permission to spend over a certain amount on anything not necessary. I have also done something similar as a sub in the past. I had to ask to spend more than my budgeted "allowance" that month. It really helped with saving and paying off debt.

When it comes to paying for play, I can see the interest in that as well, more out of desperation. Just like those people who might use a hooker for sex. Especially as a male sub, it is hard to find a female domme. So if the only way you can satisfy those urges is by paying for it, it makes sense. I think it is also that desperation and the unbalanced "market" that allows them to get away with it.

There's findom and then there's 'findom'. There does seem to be a plague of certain kinds of people on certain platforms who seemingly discovered "these losers just give you money to insult them? i gotta get in on that!" And they kind of ruin it for the proper ones. It's a form of control, and like butterfly said, it doesn't have to end up with some aloof bitch spending your hard-earned money on starbucks. In a proper findom scenario it's not about just emptying your wallet to get some attention, there are rules and limits in place that respect the wellbeing of all involved.

When it comes to pay for play I actually see that kind of outside of kink. It's a service. There are people who like to do sex or bdsm as a job, and there are those who don't mind paying for it, if they get a professional treatment in return. Someone who knows what they're doing, and delivers what the customer asks for. I don't see it as any different than paying for a movie theater to get the best possible experience of a movie with a big screen and surround sound and a big bucket of popcorn.

I hate to say it but. Feet. I dont understand foot fetish.
Where to start... They're often covered with shoes and socks, which gives them an air of intimacy. They also get sweaty or dirty and it leans into a humiliation dynamic to be like "you're not worthy of being near my genitals, you can take care of my dirty feet."

And here's an interesting thing from the point of view of the receiver. Apparently the feet nerves run quite close to the genital nerves, and sometimes there's a little... electrical contamination, where foot stimulation is interpreted by the brain as sexual stimulation.

There's a difference between things I really don't want to do or know I would not enjoy and things I genuinely don't understand.

I guess I can understand how people can like most kinks. Even scat - while I personally would never want to do this - I can at least understand why some people might.

There's only two things I can think of right now that I genuinely don't understand:

Hypnosis - I don't understand it in general and I don't understand how this would be somehow a turn on? But I guess that is just because I can't be hypnotized and I just really don't understand it.

ASMR - This is also very confusing to me. Not even sexy sounds but just.... sounds? Like smacking and crunching? Maybe someone can explain in more detail because I just... don't understand.

Hypnosis is not something on my list of things I want to try, but I can understand it in that it comes down to a loss of control.
