My thoughts on female chastity devices

Reply to thread
I have been intrigued for a long time about female chastity devices. I love the idea of chastity in general but it has always seemed to be more prevalent with men than with women. I recently spent some time researching female chastity belts as I would like to try chastity, ideally long term. Most "beginner" chastity belts are around $100 USD which is not super pricey as far as sex toys go but not something that I could easily impulse buy. I looked on numerous sites, and for these beginner belts, it seemed that most sites sold the same pieces, just at different price points. Interestingly, many sites did not have any reviews available for me to look at (important for me when buying almost anything online), however, I did find some on Amazon. It would be sufficient to say, many reviews were not great. Many noted issues with fit and poor materials. I recall one that stated the piece was made out of nickel instead of the stainless steel which was advertised which would be a huge problem for me as I have a severe nickel allergy. Additionally, after perusing Reddit, the issue of hygiene came up frequently. For me, I would need to remove the chastity belt every time I used the bathroom which would be annoying and time consuming. Additionally, I would need to remove and clean the belt nightly to avoid getting any sort of infection as some of the medications I am on have weakened my immune system. There are sites with higher quality and custom-made pieces, but I do not feel comfortable spending $500-$1000 USD on a kink that I am trying for the first time. Even with the higher-quality pieces, the issue of hygiene and the practicalities of wearing a chastity belt long-term still remain. All in all, I feel very disappointed. I would love to try chastity especially for Locktober but it does not seem to fit practically for my needs and lifestyle.

I think the cheap ones can be a bit hit and miss as to whether they are a comfortable fit. But probably the best place to start Most can be worn for a reasonable time and many do not need to be removed to use the bathroom. The quality ones like MySteel and Neosteel costing more certainly can, and for that price also come made to measure. You can wear for short periods for starters while your body adjusts before you start on a Locktober?

Do/will you have a keyholder? If so s/he will also make an ideal Dominant if you have or will have a D/s relationship so that your nads will not be your own and you will have no say in any decisions about your sex life. So you will do as you are told. There was a sub on getdare called Louise2 who posted a lot and wore pretty much 24/7 under the control of her Dominant husband and also her brother.

I still think $100 is too much for essentially a gamble especially with the concern of poor material quality.
I have seen people wear chastity full time but it appears that they have a 24/7 TPE relationship which does not fit with my current life or my interests.
I probably won’t have another person as physical keyholder. It would be more like me asking to masturbate but I still have the keys for hygiene and emergencies.

Yes it is a bit of a gamble. If you want something you are sure will fit then the only safe way is a quality belt by e.g. MySreel or Neosteel. And if you do not see yourself having a keyholder then one way could be tto get a kitchensafe or similar so as to make the keys inaccessible for a limited period.
