In just over a month, Kinky Wonderland will officially be ONE YEAR OLD. And what a year it has been.

We have seen incredible growth in our lovely little community. Since New Year’s alone, our membership has grown 10x 🤯

But numbers aren’t what make this place special.
You do.

This community is built on the energy, kindness, chaos, humour, vulnerability, and support of our members. And as part of our anniversary celebration, I want to celebrate our members!

🌟 Kinky Wonderland “Member of the Year” 🌟​


We are going to crown our very first Member of the Year!

This should be someone who truly represents what Kinky Wonderland is all about:
  • Welcoming and inclusive to new and existing members
  • Active and involved in the community (this can be shown in many different ways!)
  • Respectful of boundaries and consent
  • Encouraging, supportive, and kind
  • Helps create a fun, safe, and engaging environment
  • Leads by example
  • Makes KW feel like home

  • We will contact the nominees and allow them to accept or decline.
  • If they accept, we will invite them to write a post sharing their KW story and what this community means to them.

Well I'll be the first one to respond..... - it should be someone very special, and someone that's shaped this community, and meant a lot to it and many people that visit. So from my point of view - for the first time, this can only be one @Butterfly. You had a tough time for a while (and to some extend still do) - and yet managed to get over that and take the initiative to create a fun inclusive place, where we can all be a part of a community of kink and excitement but also chatter and laughing together. So even though it may sound weird to nominate the owner / creator, I feel it's extremely suitable in this situation, because we wouldn't have had this place without you!

So, I nominate - Butterfly
 
I’d like to nominate @Rainy13 for Member of the Year.

This amazing human is incredibly giving and does everything with so much heart. Not only does she care deeply about the forum as a whole, but she genuinely cares about the individuals in it. She consistently goes above and beyond (often drawing on her professional knowledge) to check in on people and make sure they’re doing okay and feeling supported.

She has a warmth and radiance that’s contagious. Her presence makes the space feel kinder, safer, and more welcoming. She truly embodies the spirit of what this forum is meant to be.

I also know that she has faced her own personal struggles this past year, yet she continues to show up with authenticity, compassion, and kindness for others. That kind of strength and generosity speaks volumes about who she is as a person.

For all of these reasons, I believe she would be an excellent candidate for Member of the Year. I feel very lucky to have met her and to have gotten to know her over the past year.
 
I also want to nominate @Inkwarden - they work tirelessly to make it all beautiful and functional, they’re hilarious and good fun and so motivated to make this site a fun place!
They’re incredible with making shiny stickers and badges and thoughtful scavenger hunts.
And someone who sits behind scenes never asking or expecting attention and jubilation of how he makes it all work and sorts out any issues.

So I think it’s time inkwarden was in the spotlight and we can express gratitude for the genius behind the coding of our very fun community!

I can 100% get behind this nomination as well.
 
I would like to nominate @Guv'nor
He has been with us since the beginning and has been pretty active since the beginning as well. Moreover he kept posting and trying to keep activity going when this site was still in its infancy and we had few members.
Not much was going on than, but he didn't give up!
Besides actively responding to threads he also offered to make custom dares for people which is rare to see. He is also just an overall nice guy to have around!

I'm going to be unkind and unfriendly and a stick-in-the-mud and a wet blanket and all those other things and say that I agree with Butterfly. Staff aren't really members. Staff are the ones who give the pretty badges. It's a bit like giving the gold medal in uphill curling to the referee.

Also, there's another thread where you can honour the staff! (And obviously we all agree the gold medal in uphill curling should go to Inkwarden! "Without whom...")
 
100% I agree with the nominations for @Butterfly

When Kinktalk went down I felt so lost and sad... Kinkywonderland is a lovely place to have found myself and gotten a second chance to share my adventures... She's been so welcoming and asked some very thoughtful and interesting questions on my AMA, completely different to the kinds of questions I was expecting

I am going to disagree that staff aren't members. Maybe the owners I would consider a bit different.
I won't accept the nomination because my intention was to celebrate other members.
However, I will say that our staff get no special benefits for their hard work and if anything, it disrupts their enjoyment of the site. I think our staff members also deserve to participate and be celebrated,

While in general I'd often agree - in this case, I feel most of the staff are truly active participants in the forum most of all, and see their mod/curator/guide as side activities.

I genuinely voted for the person that in my view did the biggest contribution from a content standpoint to the site.

So my view excluding them (staff) then sounds a bit unfair. But clearly also slightly biased maybe.

I second all these nominations - All of these people are wonderful contributors to everything and bring so much fun and support and have been consistent with their contributions to the KW community.
