I am curious how people communicate outside of sites nowadays!
Often when you start chatting with someone you decide to take your play offline so you can have a more interactive conversation, maybe play some games on specific apps or sites...
Back in the day I would use KIK, especially as it had the dice roll feature...since that app seems totally crap now, I am curious what people are using to play games with each other, or just to talk to each other?
Which games sites do you frequent when making bets?

My contribution: https://battleship-game.org/en/ - great way to play Battleships with each other :)

Hey Bloxo, I almost exclusively use Discord! I love so many of its features, and a number of people I have been chatting with were willing to get a Discord account to chat in a more meaningful way.

(Don't get me started about KIK. 🤬)

Usually Discord but I’d recommend Signal if you want privacy and security (including disappearing messages).

Ugh Kik is the absolute worst these days. I still have it downloaded as I do have a few people who will periodically message me there but otherwise I try to ignore it.

I also use Discord almost exclusively. I am not really too concerned about privacy or else I would maybe use Signal or Telegram but I like that Discord can be used on my phone, a desktop app or even just in my browser so I can use it on my work computer without downloading anything onto the computer.

When I first met Miss Butterfly we used Google Hangouts. It is now discontinued and we since use Discord. Not really anything else kink wise. I have never in my life used KIK.

I don't really use any specific websites for playing kink games.

I do often use https://www.random.org/ mostly for the random number generator and dice roller. This is often handy for online tasks.

IRL / serious : Gmail, Whatsapp, facebook

Non kinky leisure : Discord, Steam

Kinky : Kik, Obedience, for calls Whatsapp

i prefer using signal...and im really happy to read that more and more people using it...

kik is still on my phone...but (and i dont think i need to tell anyone 😅 ) this app isnt really fun...

and btw : first post! hello everyone 🙋🏼‍♂️

I have pretty much always switched from kik to discord with any subs that I talked to for more then a day or two. However, if discord isnt something you want to use, element x is really great.

It is so awful. I wanted to send a message and had to watch 3 ads first!

Hello and welcome!
i know those three adds too 😅 but for me the app always freezes after the first or second one and then has to be restarted...and then the whole thing starts all over again...

thats really not an option...ive never understood why everyone uses this app...but you cant get very far on GD without this crap...hopefully it will be different here 😎

I still use KiK, as meny others still use it. I do have Discord as well. But I also still use IRC's server but not for kink stuff.

I posted a list of kink app recommendations. I made another thread because it's focusing more on kink than communication. Hopefully you find this cross-post helpful and not spammy, otherwise I can delete this reply or merge the thread.

Tip: When using chat apps, it's helpful to be familiar with bot, security, and privacy features. For example you may want to roll dice, make messages or media disappear, or confirm connections or encryption keys. Also make sure you're not doxing yourself with usernames, profiles, media, etc.

KiK is awful! I hate it. I banished it from my phone a while ago and then reinstalled it for a one off message. I need to banish it again even though I do love KiK messenger type threads... they are just not worth the pain of KiK anymore!

I use Signal Messenger as my primary communication method with my online subs and like to move to it as soon as possible. It's very secure provided your phone itself isn't compromised, and these days it can provide full anonymity (it used to expose the phone number you registered, but not anymore). All photos and media in conversations remain completely internal to the app and are never exposed in your general phone media libraries (unlike some other apps) so no accidents with NSFW media.

I also use the Obedience App with a paid subscription for task tracking with subs, but only because I haven't found anything better. It is dreadful at handling timezone differences and is very buggy when calculating punishments and rewards, often getting it wrong (I have to double check every day, made much worse by poor timezone handling). I never use it for chat or media sharing and I do not trust it for privacy. I have long considered writing my own Obedience-like app for online interactions that has a privacy focus.

I use Lovense for toy control, but hate the way remote connections seem so fragile and unreliable. They drop out the moment I change WiFi network (or from WiFi to cell phone) and require my sub to reestablish the connection—something that doesn't work when they are asleep. I also do not use it for chat or media and do not trust it for privacy. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get any of my past online subs working with XToys.

I do also use Discord on a casual basis, but again it is not trustworthy for privacy and I move to Signal Messenger wherever possible for play.

I still use KIK, but, it is honestly quite crap and full of spammy adverts for awful mobile games. If it wasnt for the threads which are designed for it, I would have deleted it years ago

Ahhh yes, communication. I use discord - begrudgingly - simply because it seems to be some form of default. I stay away from anything too corporate otherwise - especially any "service" that wants to know my phone number unnecessarily - it is just fishy! I'd love to move everything to matrix, but I have trouble finding people wanting to put up with it - and for good reason. It is not as flashy or straight forward to use like mainstream "services". Still in my opinion the most trustworthy one.

As for games, interactions, and toy control are concerned, I pretty much just make what I need myself when I need it.
