For play a collar can be anything. I do love those thick leather ones with the big hoops on the front for restraint. But for long term wear for the slave serving her master I like a small slim steel one with a small loose ring to be used for a leash

Was it an all the time collar? or just for play?

I have used both my all the time collar was welded on to me and it meant more to me than I could ever say. But play collars can be exciting for scenes.

What does a collar mean to you?

For me a collar means I am owned. It means I have agreed to give all that I am to someone and they are giving all that they are to me. It's like a wedding ring a symbol of our relationship and our commitment to each other. With that being said I understand collars are great things to have in dynamics and scenes so I have always had a rule with them. I will wear a collar for any Top I'm doing a scene with but I will be the one to put it on me and remove it and it will not be locked in any way. Only a Dom I am serious with will I allow to be the one to put the collar on me and lock it on.

Collars mean a lot to me and they always will and while I'm willing to wear them in scenes I honestly prefer not to especially if I havent been experienced with you for multiple scenes.

Yes I have, numerous times.

What did your collar look like? What does your ideal collar look like?

Collars. I wear different ones for different play. There is a rusty steel one looking really post apocalyptic, screwed metal strips with a cold forged latch piece. A rubber one with high-visibility reflectors and a shoelace latch. A simple latex ribbon held with magnets. Nylon webbing with snap buckle, upgraded to latex-nylon composite eventually. A neoprene collar, two actually. A simplistic leather collar with locking buckle.
The ideal collar would be rather wide and thick, and filled with fun electronics for a form of hypnoplay. It would appear as a solid piece with no latches or ornaments but with a hidden leash attachment.

Most are for play only, the simple latex ribbon was an experiment in more permanent effects.

What does a collar mean to you?

Collars are powerful selfhypnosis triggers. The ones I have and use are associated with effects like locking me in submissive or dominant mode. Another one I made to help me accomplishing mundane tasks.
A new collar has no effect on me, until it is imbued with something - play partners have put a collar on me surprised it did nothing.

I have a collar, but I've never been collared in the sense of "You're my sub now, and this collar signifies that." Would be nice, though.

Nice big leathery one. The ideal one would be one that someone chose, maybe even designed for me.

Occasional play. It came with wristbands and a chain to attach all 3.

Right now, not much. Waiting on the person that will make it mean something.

Was a simple "sub" labelled collar in black with a clip on point for a lead and a padlock.

An ideal one might be a a little softer, have some optional extra location for arms to be held behind back, easy to clean.

Just for play! Was how i've handled switch personas. This meant a lot of surprise collaring and play fights over claiming each other for the evening, or... just being a bit of a brat to encourage collaring that day depending on our moods.

What does a collar mean to you?

Honestly, a kind of silly niceness, sometimes you just felt down and tired, and plop, a surprise collaring from behind and you know you'll be physically pampered and cared for, cheered up. Other times it's a chance to return the favour, or, just win an "argument" It was a weapon of kindness most of the time and a way to show how you felt! Perhaps they'd done something nice, and wanting to return the favour with services to them. You'd subtly offer yourself up on a "plate" without immediate pressure to take action, so it can naturally turn to play once everyone's ready, letting you enjoy the anticipation of when they'll "notice", and take control. But ultimately the collar was a vessel/symbol of relationship, and feels pretty meaningless otherwise.
